London Tube Journeys Hit 86% of Normal on Second Strike Day

On the second day of RMT Tube strikes, Transport for London reported journeys at 86% of usual levels, an improvement from Tuesday's sharper disruption. Underground trips remained 43% lower while Overground, Elizabeth line and DLR services rose 12-18%. Around 60% of drivers reported for duty, with staffing strongest on the Jubilee line at 91%. The 24-hour walkout, centred on a proposed four-day week, continues to curb commuter flows and may modestly weigh on London economic activity and UK equity sentiment. Officials note talks remain possible, leaving short-term revenue uncertainty for TfL and retailers.
