Adam Back Criticizes BIP-110 Supporters Following Failed Bitcoin Soft Fork Attempt

Blockstream CEO Adam Back has condemned proponents of Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 110 (BIP-110), stating the market will reject attempts to impose controversial views on Bitcoin. Back noted the proposal suffered severe architectural flaws during technical review but was aggressively pushed anyway. Authored by Dathon Ohm, BIP-110 aimed to limit non-financial transaction data by capping standard script outputs at 34 bytes. The proposal secured only 2.53% miner signaling against a required 55% threshold, and an August 8 chain split halted after two blocks. By November 3, only eight of 18,870 nodes enforced BIP-110.
