Google Acquires Wyoming Data Center Site From Crusoe Following $17 Billion Investment Plan

Google has acquired an artificial intelligence data center site in southeast Wyoming from developer Crusoe, cementing its first data center development in the state. The move follows Google's announcement to invest $17 billion into the 716-acre campus, previously known as Project Tembo, where it pledged to pay for 100% of its power consumption. To construct and power the site, Google is partnering with American Electric Power, Tallgrass Energy, Black Hills Energy, and Related Digital. Power arrangements include a $4 billion, 702-megawatt fuel-cell project backed by a 20-year take-or-pay agreement with AEP and a $1.8 billion natural gas facility.
