Amazon Partners With Uber Eats for Prime Restaurant Delivery, Ending Grubhub Deal

Amazon has named Uber Eats as its official U.S. restaurant delivery partner, ending its commercial arrangement with Grubhub that began in 2022. Under the agreement, Prime subscribers can order from hundreds of thousands of restaurants across nearly 10,000 cities directly through Amazon's app and website without a separate Uber account. Orders of $25 or more qualify for waived delivery fees, which Amazon estimates can save members over $175 annually. Following the announcement, Amazon shares rose 6.12% and Uber shares gained 4.91% in early market trading amid escalating food delivery competition.
