Amazon to Hire Over 300,000 Seasonal Workers for Upcoming US Holiday Peak

Amazon announced plans to hire more than 300,000 seasonal employees across its U.S. fulfillment and operations network for the holiday season. The recruitment drive marks a 20% increase from the 250,000 seasonal workers targeted in recent years, contrasting with conservative hiring across the retail sector. Seasonal staff will earn an average wage exceeding $20 per hour, while full-time core operations personnel average nearly $24 per hour following a recent $1.5 billion wage increase. Amazon is also introducing healthcare coverage for qualifying staff working at least 30 hours weekly, with premiums starting at $5 per week.
