Anthropic Launches Claude Duet AI Agent to Rival Meta and OpenAI

Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, a proactive personal AI agent designed to manage tasks autonomously, directly challenging Meta Platforms' Muse agent and OpenAI's Dots. Initially offered through a research preview waitlist for Pro and Max subscribers, Claude Duet is powered by Anthropic's Opus 5.5 model. The rollout escalates competition against Meta, whose Muse agent has reached over 10 million users in the U.S. and Canada and more than 14 million installations according to Apptopia. Meta faces high compute demands for agents alongside quarterly capex of $34.9 billion.
