Apple iOS keyboard restricts predictive text for 100,000 sensitive and political terms

Apple Inc.'s iOS keyboard contains an undisclosed gray list of approximately 100,000 words and phrases restricted from autocomplete and swipe-typing features, according to findings by independent cybersecurity researcher Derik Kauffman and verified by Tolmo. The restricted list spans multiple languages and covers vulgarities, violence, and sensitive political phrases including 'dictator Trump,' 'sleepy Joe,' 'Tibetan independence,' and 'United Ireland.' Apple stated the keyboard is designed to prevent unintended offensive or inappropriate recommendations, noting that users can still manually type the phrases letter by letter without restrictions.
