Binance Hacker Wallets Hold $1.40 Billion in Bitcoin as Laundering Attempts Continue

Nineteen Bitcoin addresses linked to the multibillion-dollar Binance breach currently hold 18,270.2 stolen Bitcoin valued at approximately $1.40 billion, with the primary stash remaining stationary. The Federal Bureau of Investigation previously attributed the exploit to North Korea-linked cyber syndicate TraderTraitor. Meanwhile, on-chain observers have sent dozens of micro-transactions containing OP_RETURN messages, ranging from financial pleas to promotional pitches, to the flagged wallets. Laundering efforts persist on other blockchains, where the attacker moved stolen Solana tokens to swap into Bitcoin via cross-chain bridge Relay, which is coordinating with law enforcement to freeze illicit flows.
