Bitcoin Reaches $81,547 Following Stronger-Than-Expected US Third-Quarter GDP Data

Bitcoin climbed to an intraday high of $81,547 after rebounding above the $80,000 level, driven by robust US macroeconomic reports. The US Bureau of Economic Analysis finalized third-quarter annualized GDP growth at 3.4%, surpassing the 3.2% consensus and up from 2.2% in the second quarter. The recovery occurred even as headline PCE inflation rose 3.6% and core PCE hit 3.1% in September, following the Federal Reserve's decision to hold interest rates at 3.75% to 4.00%. Bitcoin also decoupled from falling US equities, which were weighed down by a 12% drop in Alphabet shares.
