Ethereum Economic Zone Unveils Rollup X Devnet to Unify Fragmented Layer-2 Liquidity

The Ethereum Economic Zone has unveiled the Rollup X devnet alongside three cross-chain breakthroughs at Devcon in Mumbai to address liquidity fragmentation across more than 20 rollups holding roughly $40 billion in total value locked. The open-source framework, backed by Gnosis, Zisk, and the Ethereum Foundation, enables atomic cross-chain execution anchored to Ethereum Layer 1 while preserving ETH as the universal gas token. Demonstrations included CoW Swap tapping mainnet liquidity, Safe multisig synchronization, and post-quantum Falcon signatures cutting gas by 91%. Gnosis Chain is scheduled to migrate to an EEZ rollup in spring 2027.
