Goldman, Apollo Seek Buyers for $40 Billion SpaceX AI Chip Financing Deal

Goldman Sachs and Apollo Global Management are marketing portions of an estimated $40 billion financing package to back SpaceX's artificial intelligence chip buildout. The structure funds about $47.3 billion in NVIDIA Vera Rubin hardware scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2027 through an $8.3 billion senior secured loan, bond tranches, and a $7 billion lease prepayment. Apollo-backed Atlas SP will acquire the equipment under a master finance lease. SpaceX offers no residual value guarantee on the chips, shifting obsolescence risks to investors after reporting $7.6 billion in third-quarter AI revenue.
