Irish Authorities Transfer 500 Seized Collins Bitcoin Worth $41.5 Million to Coinbase Prime

Irish authorities have transferred 500 Bitcoin valued at roughly $41.5 million to Coinbase Prime, completing their fifth confiscation-related recovery this year from convicted drug dealer Clifton Collins. Collins originally accumulated 6,000 BTC across 12 wallets between late 2011 and early 2012 before key documents hidden in a fishing-rod case were lost. Operating with Europol's European Cybercrime Centre, the Criminal Assets Bureau has now recovered 2,500 BTC through tranches in March, May, July, August, and October 2026. Approximately 3,500 BTC remains unmoved, while Bitcoin reached an intraday high of $83,335 during the latest transfer.
