Musk Plans to Double Nvidia AI Chips at Colossus 2 Data Center by Year-End

Elon Musk announced plans to more than double the deployment of advanced Nvidia artificial intelligence chips at the Colossus 2 data center by the end of the year. The Memphis, Tennessee facility currently operates about 110,000 Nvidia GB200 chips and 440,000 GB300 chips. Musk outlined a schedule to add 220,000 GB300 processors next week and another 220,000 in November, with a potential 220,000 additional units arriving by late December depending on delivery and installation conditions. The cluster powers frontier AI models and rents capacity to external firms.
