Nvidia Works With Banks on $500 Billion Chip-Backed AI Infrastructure Financing

Nvidia is collaborating with six Wall Street institutions to mobilize more than $500 billion in AI infrastructure debt financing by structuring its chips as loan collateral. The move comes as Nvidia shares dropped 4.5% and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell nearly 7% over concerns regarding heavy debt burdens at specialized cloud providers. CEO Jensen Huang previously highlighted that AI computing demand is 'off the charts' but held back by scarce working capital, with individual 1-gigawatt data centers requiring around $50 billion. Goldman Sachs estimates cumulative AI capital expenditures could reach $7.6 trillion between 2026 and 2031.
