Nvidia Commits $1.16 Billion to UK Startups Amid Global AI Safety Campaign

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced a $1.16 billion investment across five British startups, including Prima Mente, Boltz, Foresight, Hiverge, and Riverlane, as part of an aggressive European tour. The announcement follows a five-year, $250 million donation to UK academic institutions, including the University of Oxford and University College London, for AI safety research. During his tour, Huang maintained that Nvidia would halt chip shipments to clients creating harmful software, opposed heavy regulation, and urged direct collaboration with Chinese AI companies to monitor emerging technological risks.
