Nvidia Discusses Repurposing Apollo's Brightspeed Telecom Buildings for AI Data Centers

Nvidia is in discussions with Apollo Global Management to establish a network of small artificial intelligence data centers by retrofitting existing telecom buildings. The proposed initiative would span 20 U.S. states and utilize real estate assets from Apollo-owned telecom provider Brightspeed. Repurposing these facilities could provide roughly 1 gigawatt of critical power capacity for Nvidia's AI server hardware. The strategy is designed to bypass mounting regulatory hurdles, local zoning moratoriums, and severe grid interconnection delays that currently hamper new large-scale data center construction across North America.
