NVIDIA Sets 104-Qubit Quantum Simulation Record on Europe's JUPITER Supercomputer

NVIDIA achieved a record 104-qubit simulation of a fault-tolerant quantum processor on JUPITER, Europe's first exascale supercomputer located at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre. Shares of NVIDIA rose 1.54% to $217.42 following the announcement. The simulation ran across 8,192 GPUs using NVIDIA's cuQuantum software and CUDA-Q platform, cutting simulation times from weeks to days. It modeled realistic hardware noise to validate magic-state cultivation, an approach requiring 90% fewer physical qubits than conventional techniques, allowing researchers to refine quantum architectures prior to hardware fabrication.
