OpenAI to Distribute AI Models on Google Cloud Following Expired Microsoft Exclusivity

OpenAI has announced a partnership to offer its artificial intelligence models and Codex coding agent on Google Cloud's Model Garden and Marketplace. The agreement completes OpenAI's strategy to distribute models across all three major U.S. hyperscale cloud providers, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services. The expansion follows the expiration of OpenAI's exclusive licensing and distribution deal with Microsoft in April, after which AWS began hosting its models. In the second quarter, Google Cloud reported annualized revenue growth of roughly 82%, compared with 42% for Microsoft Azure and 37% for AWS.
