Over 60 Bitcoin Stolen From Ledger Wallets Tied to Task-Scam Network

Hackers have stolen more than 60 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $4.8 million to $4.9 million, from three Ledger-linked addresses tied to a suspected task-scam operation, according to blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis. The targeted addresses initially received the Bitcoin on September 22 before the entire balance was consolidated and transferred to an unidentified destination wallet on October 9. Chainalysis connected the compromised wallets to networks running fraudulent micro-task and product review scams. Hardware wallet maker Ledger noted its core systems remained secure while tightening reseller procedures following a separate supply-chain tampering incident.
