Rootstock Report Forecasts Bitcoin Lending and Yield Will Fuel Institutional Adoption

Bitcoin lending, yield generation, and structured credit products could ignite the next wave of institutional crypto demand, according to a report from RootstockLabs. Identifiable institutional investors currently hold roughly 3.9 million BTC, yet only 1.5% of Bitcoin's supply actively participates in lending and native financial services. RootstockLabs notes that on-chain collateral and programmable liquidations help mitigate risks like leverage and custodian concentration. Practical adoption is already emerging, highlighted by mining firm MARA securing $750 million in Bitcoin-backed financing for an Ohio power plant acquisition without liquidating its underlying cryptocurrency reserves.
