Tesla Posts $288M Unrealized Bitcoin Gain as Holdings Reach $962 Million in Q3

Tesla held onto its entire 11,509 Bitcoin stash through the third quarter of 2026, lifting the valuation of its digital assets 42% quarter-over-quarter to $962 million. The revaluation generated a $288 million pre-tax unrealized gain, or $224 million net of tax, breaking three consecutive quarters of mark-to-market losses totaling $641 million. The paper gain substantially aided Tesla's Q3 GAAP net income of $787 million, which declined 43% year-over-year amid flat revenue of $28.05 billion. SpaceX also refrained from selling, maintaining $1.573 billion in digital assets.
