US Demands China Immediately Fulfill Busan Trade Truce Commitments

The United States is pressing China to immediately fulfill obligations under their Busan trade truce after Beijing delivered only about two-thirds of pledged rare earth exports. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer warned Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng that progress hinges on verifiable results. Washington highlighted curbs on critical materials such as yttrium, which threaten US defense and aerospace supply chains. Although China has met soybean purchasing targets, it lags on other agricultural imports. The friction arises ahead of bilateral talks, the Shenzhen APEC Summit, and the Miami G20 meeting.
