Volvo Cars Expands Partnership With Nvidia for Next-Generation Automated Driving Systems

Volvo Cars has expanded its collaboration with Nvidia to deploy next-generation driver-assistance and automated driving systems across its upcoming vehicle portfolio. The automaker plans to integrate Nvidia's full-stack technology, including the Hyperion sensor and compute architecture, the Alpamayo software stack, and the Halos safety layer. Deployment will span electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and internal combustion models globally before 2030, excluding China. Rollouts will initially deliver supervised driving capabilities before progressing to hands-free operation on highways and urban streets beyond premium vehicle price points.
